Robin Carhart-Harris is a researcher in the Neuropsychopharmacology Unit at Imperial College London, where he studies the influence of psychedelic substances on the human brain. He joined us at the Secret Garden Party in 2013 and 2014 to host a table at our Neuropharmacological Canapes, where he served mushroom bruschetta paired with Bloody Marys to illustrate one of the main findings of his research: that psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, actually results in less blood flow to key areas of the brain – not more.
