Spaceship Archaeology

The first photographed UFO sighting took place in Oregon on June 24, 1947, and it has remained a hotbed for spotting alien spacecraft since. What if the festival lake was the site of a UFO crash? Grab a shovel and dig into this possibility.

World’s Smallest Lube Museum

Slip and slide over to this mobile cart featuring a collection of objects charting the historical evolution of lube. Come find us all over the festival grounds for a chance to participate in our Lube Lab cook-off!

4pm Boundary Layers: Wind Walk

Explore the movements of plants and awaken to the signs of the wind. Embody the motion of trees to collaborate like a forest. Observe the wind’s history, visualize it rolling across the landscape, and learn to measure it just by watching trees.

Mirror neurons — which some consider may be the basis of our ability to empath — are one of the phenomena explored in the installation.
