Intergalactic Travel Bureau – Stage Show

An experimental cabaret bringing together artists and scientists to experiment and explore space travel through theatre.

Audiences embark on the adventure of a lifetime to the final frontiers of space. Guided by our Intergalactic Travel Agents, intrepid explorers journey to the moon, visit the best planetary destinations in our solar system, then head at light speed to the outer edges of the galaxy — all before a successful return home to Earth. Travellers encounter the physical, emotional, and psychological effects that occur in microgravity, and discover whether life could be like in space…

Led by director Chris Rolls, the cabaret show features commissions from two cutting-edge artists, Empress Stah and Bishi, who created new work through collaborations with brilliant space scientists, Beth Healey, Zita Martins, Louisa Preston and Julia Attias, along with marvellous quantum physicist, Ben Allanach. Inspired by their research, Empress Stah devised and performed a lunar aerial hoop solo, while Bishi devised her performance as Jupiter’s moon Europa.

The Intergalactic Travel Bureau also exists as a pop-up installation, VR app and book.

To create the ITB stage show, we collaborate with Empress Stah, Bishi, Beth Healey, Zita Martins, Louisa Preston, Ben Allanach, Julia Attias, Andrea Foa, Chris Rolls and Niki Angus-Campbell.
